Lice infestation is a relatively common condition in horses, and though any individual can be affected, it is more frequently found in groups of horses housed together. Infestation is also seen more often during the winter months.

Affected horses will be intensely itchy and often cause damage to affected areas through rubbing; the coat tends to appear dull and patchy. Adult populations of biting lice and viable eggs are eliminated with a single application of Coopers Fly Repellent Plus for up to 3 months. However, eggs can take up to 2 weeks to hatch out so it can be a good idea to repeat Coopers Fly Repellent Plus application after 14 days in affected individuals. It is vitally important that the whole of the body is treated, including the head, mane and tail.
